After a successful share offer from August to September 2021 to raise the necessary funds (£1.88 million), activity on site began in late September 2021 with general groundwork and preliminary construction around the powerhouse. Work was paused over the winter in December 2021 to allow for potential in-river spawning of the fish populations and recommenced in March 2022.

The turbine was delivered in May, installed in August 2022, and the 547 kW scheme on the Abhainn Ghreadain was commissioned and energised in early September well in time to meet the Feed-in Tariff deadline.
