The Co-operative

LEG Power Lochaber was created to build and own 100% of the hydro scheme on the Abhainn Ghreadain burn in Glenachulish. LEG Power Lochaber raised the funds to build the scheme through a public community share offer in 2021.

LEG Power Lochaber Limited is registered as a community benefit society with the Financial Conduct Authority, registration number 8053. Its registered address is: An Drochaid Claggan, Fort William, PH33 6PH.

The society has more than 500 members, with local applications given priority during the share offer. Members earn interest each year, and surplus profits are passed to Lochaber Environmental Group (LEG) for the benefit of the community.

The society is supported and managed by Energy4All, a social enterprise that has successfully helped to set up more than 30 community renewable energy co-operatives/community benefit societies across the UK.
